Terms of Service
Last updated:
Last updated: September 1, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AxioStats website and its data services (the “Service”), operated from https://axiostats.com. By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
AxioStats is a data platform that organizes public digital and economic information into a matrix of datasets. The Service provides: (a) visualizations and tables of datasets, (b) export of datasets in common formats (CSV, JSON), (c) embeds and static API endpoints, and (d) editorial content (the blog) about data, methodology and the topics the data covers.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by:
- Attempting to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- Scraping at volumes that materially degrade the Service for others (normal, human-scale use and reasonable caching are always fine);
- Using the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation;
- Impersonating AxioStats or misrepresenting the provenance of its data.
3. Data, sources and methodology
- The datasets published on the Service are compiled from public, third-party sources (for example government statistical agencies and platform APIs) and are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
- Where we compute derived series (for example year-over-year rates), the computation is described in each dataset’s methodology section.
- Some datasets report figures as published by their original source (for example vendor-reported AI benchmark scores). We do not independently re-measure third-party claims unless stated otherwise.
- Source links, retrieval dates and methodology notes are part of each dataset and should be preserved when you redistribute the data.
4. Intellectual property
- AxioStats content. The site’s original content — text, visual design, charts and code — is protected by copyright and related rights. You may view and share it for personal and editorial purposes with attribution; you may not republish it wholesale or use it to build a competing data product without permission.
- Third-party data. Datasets originate from third parties with their own terms and licenses (for example the FRED terms of use or Wikimedia licensing). Your use of that data must comply with the original source’s terms. Links to each source are provided on the dataset pages.
- Our brand. The “AxioStats” name and logo may not be used to imply endorsement or affiliation without our written consent.
5. Exports, embeds and API
- Exports. Downloading a dataset’s CSV or JSON for analysis, reporting or integration is permitted, subject to the source’s own terms and the attribution rules in section 3.
- Embeds. You may embed dataset chart pages in your own sites. Embedded pages remain under these Terms.
- API. The static JSON endpoints serve the same data shown on the page. They are provided without key or SLA; we may change or discontinue endpoints with reasonable notice as the Service evolves.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service and all data, content and materials on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:
- the data will be accurate, complete or current;
- the data will be suitable for any particular decision you make;
- the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
The data on AxioStats is information, not advice. Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, investment or professional advice. Do not make consequential decisions solely on the basis of these datasets.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AxioStats and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Changes to the Service or the Terms
We may modify the Service, add or remove datasets and features, and update these Terms from time to time. When the Terms change materially, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator’s jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. This does not affect mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under local law.
